Happy International Women's Day!
After all of the Oscar hubbub about The Aviator, I talked a friend into seeing it with me in the gap I had between class and Tafelmusik rehearsal. Since I don’t know much about Howard Hughes, I can’t really make any comments on the films as a "bio-pic" I couldn’t really get into the film because I couldn’t visualize Leonardo DiCaprio as anyone other than himself. He did a good job in the role, but it didn’t hit my ‘realism’ nerve. Tafelmusik rehearsal was awesome today. It was a straight read-though of Handel’s Deborah, and it was SO much fun to just sightread. A few of the sections are "recycled" from the Coronation Anthems – ahh.. memories of OYC 2001… So yes.. good music- fun fun fun!
