Ouchies!

I had my FCO (aka Germany music program) audition today at the "temporary" location of the RCM down at Bloor and Dufferin. I got out of the subway station and I was like... "omg! I'm in the ghetto!" (not really, but it felt that way).

Anyhow, I was outside the front of the building and there were about 4 cement steps going up to the door. What did I do - I tripped! I bashed one of my knees and it's scraped up and bruised a bit, but I'm fine now. At the time though I was hobbling around (not realizing it was bleeding a bit) thinking, "must find audition room.... must not show pain... *hobble hobble*"

One of my friends (Farah) came early and asked if she could do before me since she would be late for something if she went at her scheduled time (40 mins after me). I didn't mind so when they called me (I was next) I told the man that I had fallen and couldn't stand, and could Farah please go first and I would take her time. He looked at me funny and took Farah in.

After she was done (and she sounded fabulous), he came out and calle me. I was like, huh??? :o ok, sure whatever... He seemed annoyed that I had disrupted their "schedule," but that wasn't really my intent!

Anyhow, my audition went alright. I mucked up a bit on the solo and test piece but I think I nailed the choral excerpt.

I went to Marché to grab a relaxed dinner afterwards and I with my bowl of Minestrone soup and looked over my opera music for my rehearsal later that evening. One of the managers (his name was Phillipe) came by and started looking at the music. He asked me a few questions about what it was, who I was, what was the music from... lalala... He was very friendly and we exchanged a few words in French before he left me to my supper.

Then I went to rehearsal and we bashed through one of the operas. BASHED is a good way to describe it... Damn it all, I spilled my tea -__-"

The fates were conspiring against me!
