Amelia at Ad Astra

Tiff, Nhan and I went to Ad Astra yesterday. We met up with Jordan, Cin, Lainey and YJ there. Unlike Anime North which caters to a very specific genre of fandom, Ad Astra is a sci-fi, fantasy and literary convention so the atmosphere was a nice chage. The costumers that attended were older, a bit more experienced and the overall "feel" of the convention was very warm. The panels were interesting and I finally met so many of ths cosplayers I only know from online - Kia, Xiola, Stillvisions to name a few. I picked up a few pointers from the "Masters" and it's given me some ideas to throw around.

I overhauled Amelia for this convention - I took 4" out of the corset so it would lace up tighter and finished the beadwork. It was all worth it in the end since the costume won 2 awards ^__^ I think it's the first time I've won a Presentation award.. hehehe. A big congrats also to Cin, Jordan and Lainey who took home Best in Class Workmanship for the Journeyman Division and Best in Show, and also to the 3 Faeries who were absolutely stunning!

I think the most entertaining part of the day was the Lightning Round where we had 1 hour and a lot of junk to make a "costume" for YJ to wear. He was a great sport about it. He won "Best in Lightning Round" for our Vooodoo Ooga Booga creation. Pure jokes!!

Tiff took some good photos that I've uploaded into my photobucket, but here is one of Lainey, Jordan, myself and Cin -

A couple of things, the first album picture is the best, but you probably already know that. I want the necklace.

And in your blogger template, delete a couple of & nbsp; things between your messenger icons. Since you added the extra, they are to far apart and look stupid. I would also suggest changing the colour of the entry titles to white - they are difficualt to see and don't match. But you prolly like the black. Just a suggestion for my mangled template. :)
