I own COUTURE! 0_0
At last Tuesday’s choir rehearsal our conductor told us that the ladies were allowed to wear “short sleeves or no sleeves” for the next few concerts since the weather is nice. This generated a few ooh’s and aah’s from the choir and I wanted to take advantage of it.
While I was walking through Fairview Mall on Thursday I happened to pop into Femme Carriere and noticed that the gorgeous black silk dress that I had oogled back in February was marked down almost 50%. Sadly it was a size 34 - yeah right! So I called around all the local stores and it turns out that Yorkdale had a my size! I made a trip up there yesterday to try it on and it fit amazingly in the ribcage, waist and hips. The only thing was that the spaghetti straps were a bit too long - designed to fit someone with a D-cup I think! But since it fit so well I decided to buy it. I then went to Lewiscraft, bought a pack of hand-sewing needles and some black thread and sat at Tim Horton's altering the straps - took all of 10 minutes ^__^"
I can now say that I own a couture gown ^__^ I've never dropped so much money for one piece of clothing before, but it's so pretty. I wore it to the concert last night and it garnered many compliments.
Last night's concert was a freebie to mark the opening of the TBSI program so there was no pressure and a nice light atmosphere. A nice change from the intense stuff that we'll be performing next week.
