Greetings from Germany
It's been a long time since I posted a blog entry...
Well, I arrived in Germany on Sunday after a few minor mishaps. My flight from Toronto to Vienna was delayed by 1.5 hrs so we missed our connecting flight from Vienna to Frankfurt completely. Luckily we were able to get our group of 9 onto a flight a couple hours later in the afternoon.... Upon arrival at Frankfurt we got on a coach bus and drove 4 hours to Überlingen - which is where we rehearse for the next 2 weeks.
The weather here is really cold compared to Toronto - on average about 17 Celcius. Yesterday was gorgeous - it was about 25, sunny and perfect so I went into town with some friends and had some gelato. OMG... Haselnüss (hazelnut) gelato is the most AMAZING thing ever... One of my friends is lactose-intolerant so she wanted to find a supermarket to buz soymilk. Another guy vaguely remembered where the supermarket was so we all wandered off to hunt... We ended up god knows were.... and I've got blisters on my feet from where my flip-flops cut into me.
Being the genius that I am, I forgot to pack bandaids... I brought stain remover, tape, scissors and whatnot but NO BANDAIDS!!! So right now I am improvising - a small piece of cotton pad (the things you use to take nail polish off with) and scotch tape - HAHA...
Since I didn't really pack cold-weather clothing I had to buy a jacket or SOMETHING. I found a cute little pink jacket by Esprit that cost me 100€ but I like it and I will wear it when I get home, rather than spending 20€ on something I will trash.
So far the music is orgasmicly good - the choir blend is phenomenal and the orchestra is amazing. We had our first tutti rehearsal for the B Minor Mass yesterday and it sounded awesome.
We got our hotel assignments for Stuttgart and I am in the sexy-ass Hotel Unger again. Mmmmm champagne breakfasts hehehe ^__^ not really, but it's a great hotel... More to come later...
