Week One of Stuttgart
It's hard to believe that it has already been a week in Stuttgart. So many things have happened...
On Monday we sang at a memorial service for Roland Klett, a former president of the International Bachakademie Stuttgart and it was an amazingly moving service. We performed a few movements from the B Minor Mass and there was not a dry eye in the house as we sang the Dona Nobis Pacem.
On Tuesday and Thursday we had rehearsals and lecture concerts of the Bach motets. It was ridiculously warm in the church, especially with the lights and we were all dripping in sweat on stage. It was rather unattractive LOL but we sang gorgeously and everyone in the audience appreciated it very much.
It's hilarious to think that as much as we have been rehearsing and singing, JP and I have done almost just as much shopping! So far I have bought a gorgeous new black concert ensemble, a beautiful pair of black slingbacks and a few tank tops and skirts. Shopping with JP is ridiculously fun since we just feed of each other's energy.
Kevin, I bought you a gorgeous Evangelion artbook. I'm debating if I really want to shell out 20€ for a Schnappi plushie -_-"
Last night the Canadian Consul treated us out to a special evening. We visited a medieval monastary and then had dinner in the town of Bebenhausen, outside of Stuttgart. It was a beautiful place that was breathing with history.
Tomorrow morning I have to wake up at 6am because we have an early morning rehearsal before we sing mass at one of the large churches in Stuttgart. It should be something beautiful, but since tonight is "skit night" I wonder how many of us will be sober and well rested HAHA.
