The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe; new speakers!

This morning Kevin and I met up and went down to the Paramount for the noon showing of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. We ended up waiting outside for 10 minutes because the theatre doesn't open until 11:30. There were a couple of elemetary school groups there as well. Despite the large crowd, Kevin and I were the first one in the theatre since he bought our tickets on Wednesday ^__^

The film was beautiful - with the expected instances where it veered from the book, but overall I was happy with the interpretation. The CG effects were quite good - my test is still hair texturing, and for the most part I was satisfied with all the CG'd characters. Mr and Mrs Beaver were so adorable.

Afterwards I got some sushi takeout at Sushi Time on Queen West - and I am never going back there again! The rice was stale and hard and there was something funky with the fish. I've never had to throw out sushi, but I had to trash this stuff.

I met up with Tiff and Nhan in the afternoon and bought my SEXY iPod speakers. Yay! Scratch one more item off my wishlist! What amuses me most is that it comes with a universal power source with a full international adapter set - awesome for when I travel. I saved about $50 on them - thanks Nhan. ^__^

We had a quick dinner at Marché and then went to the Paramount where I watched the movie a SECOND time. Hahaha!

After seeing the film, any yearnings to cosplay the White Witch (movie version) have been wiped out. Although visual she is very impressive on screen, the costumes didn't scream "make me!," but the BBC version is still on my (unending) to-do list.

I just Laura's blog. Her cat Yancha passed away today. It's such sad news. If it makes me a dork to cry when a friend's pet dies, then call me a dork.
