Zing-a-long mit Georg
Today was my second of the hilarious Sing-A-Long Messiah's with Tafelmusik. I've been looking foward to it all year. Having 3000 people in Massey Hall all singing the Hallelujah chorus may seem cheesy, but it is very powerful and moving. Ivars had a new spin on a couple of old jokes and the first schtick was hilarious! For my "festive adornments" I wore my Ruby Slippers during the second half of the concert, but I'm not sure if people saw them since I was seated behind the violas @__@
I invited Jordan and Cin with my comp ticket and student discount since they expressed interest in "trying something new." I'm glad I warned them about the manic line-up of Sing-a-long fans because it stretched almost the whole block of St. Michael's Hospital.
Since I got there early, I helped hand out hot chocolate to the audience members standing outside. They couldn't open the doors early because the harpsichord was being tuned, so it was a nice gesture. A lot of people really appreciated it ^__^ Many of them asked me if I was in the orchestra and were really surprised when I told them I was in the choir (must be the Asian thing, I swear LOL). It was nice to know that there would be people looking for me when I got onstage =P
Jord, Cin - hope you enjoyed the show. I know it's not your usual thing, but this is one of our most popular engagements in the whole year. ^__^
