What do you do when the unexpected happens?

Imagine saying farewell to someone you'll never see again. It's painful, heartbreaking, but inevitable. Then imagine running into them later in the most unexpected time. Of course you'll be overjoyed to see them - but what happens when you have to say goodbye again?

I've had 6 weeks to resign myself to the fact that I wasn't going to Germany this summer. I was even starting to make tentative plans for FanExpo in September. Basically, I had moved on.

This morning there was an email from Tobias in my inbox inviting me back.

My immediate reaction was of giddyness, excitement and anticipation - but then I hesitated. Before I go back, there will be a lot of things I to have sorted out for before and after the trip. First off - I'll need a better source of income to pay off my Visa, cover incidental expenses while I'm there (aka shopping!), rent (for when I get back), ACTRA fees (which will bite me in the butt in the fall), new furniture and whatnot.

This isn't something I could ever say no to - but getting myself there will be a struggle.
