New beginnings and more stress

Frances and Josephine will be leaving the clinic for good this week - which is sad because they have been around for a long time. Frances has been working there almost as long as I have, but both of them are moving on to new ventures and I wish them well.

With their departure leaves a few voids in our work schedule, particularly with responsibilites regarding the research program that our site is affiliated with. I was asked by our site manager last week if I would interested in jumping in and taking over these responsibilities and I agreed. It is a lot of paperwork and communication with doctors and specialists, but I think it will be a nice change. Today I went through how to do most of the procedures and next week I will train at the central hub. I'm a bit boggled by the medical terms but things will become clearer with practice.

I have also been in contact with Doreen Rao to see if it would be possible to sing in the Mozart C Minor Mass performances at Roy Thompson Hall later in October. There are a few things I need to clear in my schedule, but it looks like a go! She also offered me a spot in the Bach Festival choir but one of the rehearsals conflicts directly with our Tafelmusik recording sessions and I'm not about to miss that.

In other news I have some kind of contact dermatitis on the back of my neck - I think it's the same rash that I had in Germany 2 years ago. I quite sure the trigger is Feria's hair conditioner. Bleh!
