Another weekly recap - my first days flying

On Monday I went downtown with grandma and bought a few things for my luggage like PJ's and more doubles of makeup, L'Occitane hand cream and whatnot. I'm ashamed to say that we hadn't gone out as "just the two of us" in probably a couple of years. We had lunch at Tako sushi and then went down to Bloor St.

Pink Baby Gloomy Bear Arcade PrizeOn Tuesday Tiff and I went out to dim sum with some of my AC training friends. We went to a place called Royal Teahouse Dim Sum Specialist up near Hwy 7 and Woodbine. The food was alright, but nothing exceptional. It was more about hanging out with my friends than anything else :) Afterwards Tiff and I went over to First Markham Place and I bought 2 more Gloomy Bears! I had to reorganize my room a bit so that I could make space for them. They are SO adorable.

On Wednesday Disha and I went shopping at Fairview and she bought mini toiletries for her travel kit. She was lucky and got sent to London on her reserve day =P In the evening I met up with Tanya to just chill out and we had dinner in Bayview Village. Of course that had to be the day that I wore my flip flops out and it snowed -__-"

On Thursday I met Jessica Ruth at Yorkdale and we went on a crazy driving adventure! Hehe. Her dad was driving and her sister were navigating and we ended up in Brampton before finally making it to our uniform place. I had to exchange a couple of things because there had been a mix-up a few weeks ago that I didn't notice until recently. Afterwards we went to the airport to learn how to use some of the antiquated computer programs. There were some really nice and friendly people that helped us out.

St. Lucia airportFriday was my first day operating as a crew member. It was Friday the 13th and I think I'll always remember it that way. It was an interesting day - and I'll leave it at that. The highlight was sitting in the cockpit for a landing - it was like watching a video game :) Yesterday was an awesome day! I had an amazing Service Director who walked me through things but let me do things on my own in economy class. I was able to learn so much and he gave me lots of tips and feedback as I went. Since the flights were longer we had time to sit down and chat about everything under the sun - from music to home renovating. The pilots invited me up to the flight deck and I chatted with them for a while too and they answered a lot of my (sometimes silly) questions.

On my way home I met a really nice FA on the bus and he was really friendly and it turns out we had so much in common. On the subway ride home a lady approached me and started talking to me. It turns out she's starting training tomorrow and she had lots of nervous questions and she was so surprised when I told her that I had just finished a week before!

So far I've been to St. Lucia and Cancun and seen the view from the airplane, hehe. I'm relaxing at home today and hopefully I'll get to go somewhere and have a layover soon :P
