A date with myself

Yesterday I went into class for what turned out to be very frustrating and negatively productive. Afterwards Kim dropped me off downtown and I went shopping at the Eaton Centre and had a mini spree at Sephora. Since the Precriptives TM is sold out I bought one by Stila, and picked up a BE foundation and a Shu Uemura eyelash curler to throw in my travel bag. Afterwards I went up to Bloor & Spadina and had a nice bowl of udon at J-Time before heading to the concert at Trinity St. Paul's.

I can't express how much I needed something like that. First off I haven't heard a Tafelmusik concert in years (since I've been on the stage... hehe) but add to it that it was Bach and that there were two familiar faces on the stage it just made everything so much more personal. The choir didn't sing, we brought in Les Voix Humaines from Montreal but I've worked with Matt White so many times now and David (the voice coach from FES 2 summers ago) was also performing. During the intermission I changed seats and found Cindy so I sat with her and her husband. It feels like I haven't seen anyone in months so it was nice to catch up.

It felt great to just get out and do my own thing, completely not related to work. . .

Last Sunday I went out shopping with Tiff and my parents. Tiff needed to go zipper hunting but we didn't find anything so we ended up at Markville and I ended up buying more stuff at MAC - hehe. I met up with my mom on Tuesday morning to go shoe shopping and have breakfast. That ended up being a very good thing because on Wednesday we went on our "field trip" to the airport and basically ran around for 4 hours looking at aircrafts and the comm centre, etc. Most of the girls had blisters and bleeding feet by the end of the day but I was in my comfy ugly loafers that mom bought for me and I was fine =P

On Thursday we did a module on economy class service and got to have airplane food for dinner - it was so good! I can't wait until we do the module on executive class food ... hehe. We've also been learning about bar service which has always been something that piqued my interest.

After class on Friday I met up with Kevin downtown and after popping by One Million Comix we went up to Sushi Train for dinner. We've ogled the place for a while but had never eaten there. I really liked it - their maki is quite unique. About 15 minutes into our dinner Kim and Trevor came in too - how completely random! We had a good laugh about it since we can't get away from each other - hehe! Since I was still partly in uniform (it's the hair I tell you... ) the waitress asked me if I was a "cabin attendant" and we had a little conversation. She was so cute.

If my schedule allows I'll do a couple of the concerts for TBSI but I can't do the whole program - nor can I do Orfeo but I plan to check out a show (or 2).

I'm pretty much flying on all the weekends @__@"
