I'm a Flight Attendant now!

When I went to the airport on Wednesday things were running on Irregular Operations so Jacky and I were taken off our scheduled flight because they down-graded the aircraft and there weren't enough jumpseats for us. So after a few phone calls to make sure everything was ok I headed home. I met a F/A named Robert at the bus stop and we chatted for a while and he told me lots of interesting stories - like the Frankfurt layovers are in Mainz now... eeeuw - been there, done that.

So on Thursday morning I headed out for Ottawa. I was with Romina from one of the other classes and we were lucky enough to get one of the 767-XM's :) Our crew was really friendly and helpful and our In-Charge, Maro, was wonderful. I had the chance to work in both economy and executive classes and I have to say that working in executive was a bit overwhelming. I felt like I was being watched by the customers and travelling employees @__@" After the flight I had my base orientation which consisted of a couple of presentations and then another 3 hour tromp around the airport. My feet were SCREAMING by the end of it.

Yesterday we had our final lesson modules and then graduation! I received my Brevet pins and my language pin :) After the ceremony everyone rushed home to take a shower and eat something so that we could attend the party downtown at Andy's Pool Hall. It was nice to see everyone with their hair down - including our instructors. We had a great time just hanging out.

I have most of the next week off and don't start flying until Friday. I'm going to take the time to relax and get my bags together. Who knows, I could end up somewhere overseas or end up in Winnipeg.
