June & July 2007 (so far)

It’s been over a month since I’ve made a blog entry so I’ll do a blitz entry to sum up the past… 5 weeks or so.

Parliament square - London June 10-17: Went over to London, UK and stayed with Michelle. I had an awesome time doing touristy things like visiting the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, walking around taking lots of pictures and the occasional bit of shopping. Marg and I got together on the Tuesday and went to Harrod’s, ate yummy desserts and did some shopping. I met up with Phil on Thursday and we went to the Tate Modern and walked around. As I was seeing him off at Liverpool St. Station we ran into Natalie – it was so awesome to see her again! Phil and PattyOn Friday I took a bus tour to Windsor Castle, the Roman baths at Bath and Stonehenge. Michelle’s flat is right off of Portobello Road so I checked out the market on Saturday morning, but it was pouring rain and not much fun. Instead we went shopping and then visited the Victoria and Albert museum. It was my first time traveling on stand-by status but I had no trouble and got home when I planned to. I spent more at Duty Free in the airport than I did most of the trip.

Backpacking TarePanda in Sydney, BCKevin and I bought tons of figures in June and I had fun taking pictures of them :) I flew to Victoria near the end of the month and got to ride one of the little Jazz planes. Interesting experience, I hope that I don’t have to do that too often.

I’ve been getting tired of airplane food so I started packing bentos for lunch and it’s worked out quite well. I can’t wait to visit Daiso later in the month to get some cool Japanese lunch stuff.

I finally got around to taking the ACTRA member’s weekend course and I was happy that I took it. It was very informative and now I’m a “real” member – I got my card in the mail today! I’ve also had some time on my hands so I depotted a huge lot of my MAC eyeshadows, and then returned the empties for new colours! Since I have my ACTRA membership card I can finally apply for the MAC Pro card – it’s been a long time that I’ve been waiting for this! The only downside was that the weekend of the course was also the weekend of Polaris so I didn’t get to go to the con. Boo!

I got together with Laura a couple weeks ago and we had lunch at Café Crêpe and then did a bit of shopping downtown (UMBRA is a great store, eh?). Their sandwiches are to die for!

Last Thursday I met Kevin after work and we went and watched Harry Potter 5 at the Paramount. It was also the night it poured and crapped rain on the city. The theatre smelled like wet geeks LMAO!!! The entire staff of Silver Snail had a reserved row behind me and Kevin. It was interesting eavesdropping on their conversations. The movie was ok. Not nearly enough camera time for the characters I wanted to see - like Bellatrix, Draco, Neville, Snape and Sirius. Way too much Cho-ness and the crazy old cat lady o_0"

So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. Whoopee.
