What I've been up to (mid-September to mid-October)

It's terrible that I've been reduced to a massive post every 3-4 weeks. When I'm on a layover I can usually only use the computers for a few minutes and when I'm at home there's so much other stuff to do. So here's my massive update on what I've been up to:

Sept 18- Went shopping and picked up stuff from the new collections at MAC. Bought a new foundation at Sephora (it's called Dior Forever) which was made for extreme wear (humidity, sweat, dry air) to test on long-haul flights. So far I'm loving it :) I met up with Laura for sushi dinner and then we sat in on a Tafelmusik rehearsal. I really do miss singing. Luckily for us they were working on the Bach Magnificat and not the Soundstreams stuff @__@" Afterwards we went out for cake with Mark R. Mmm.... cake!

Sept. 22- Hong Kong weekend. Flew with my friends from training (Michael, Kristen, Denise, Esther, and Bianca too! LOL) and it was a great crew and a great layover. I went up to the CTMA Centre in Mong Kok and picked up the Atelier Sai KOS-MOS figure and found a copy of the Bomé black variant Kasumi!! I was very pleased. The morning before we left I was up at 6am so I went down for tea and pastries in the hotel and met up with a few of our crew who were also running on weird time changes. Michael, Esther and I went out for breakfast before doing some last minute shopping and picking up some groceries.

Sept. 26- Was bored so I met up with Tiff and brought her pad thai and freshly squeezed OJ for lunch. Discovered the neat underground path that connect the Ryerson business building with the Eaton Centre. Took the Jane Street bus to Laura's house (a bit of a scary experience...) for a send-off party. It was nice to see Sumi (Laura's beautiful fluffball of a cat) and some of the Carter-ites again

Sept. 28- Had a family dinner for my No. 7 Great Aunt's birthday. I really like her, otherwise I would have skipped the dinner =P Saw some relatives that I usually only see at Christmas, weddings or funerals. Saw some "relatives" that I don't know how I'm "related" to (and don't want to know...) Food was unimpressive. Decor was garish. That's enough about that.

Oct. 1- Met up with Laura and drove around town so that we could FedEx some of her stuff to her new place in York. It took way too long! LOL Wished her on her merry way to the UK.

Oct. 5- Went up to FMP for some shopping and picked up some yummy pot-stickers for dinner. I was quite amazed that I left empty-handed - not even a Gloomy Bear! *shock*

Oct. 6- Did a silly milk-run between Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. The crew was awesome though :) Actually, with the exception of my extremely disfunctional crew from first day on the job most of my crews have been pretty awesome. I phoned in and told crew scheduling that I'd like to work this week. I was supposed to be off from Monday - Saturday. I would have sat at home growing mould if I didn't get out and do something!!! Had the sense to do laundry when I got home. Thank goodness, because . . .

Oct. 8- Crew Sched. wakes me up and asks me if I'd like to leave that afternoon for Tel Aviv. Why the hell would I say no?! So I ran around like an idiot packing my bags (I had only packed my roll-aboard for the quick Montreal and Ottawa's I've been doing lately) before heading out to the airport. The layover was amazing! The hotel is right on the beach, and Sanaa and I took a day trip out to Jerusalem on Wednesday. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my week. Operating the flights there and back were interesting. Can't elaborate too much more without it turning into a rant. More about my adventures in Israel to follow!

Today- I had plans to go out this afternoon, but Kevin's mom brilliantly decided to turn off all the water. Why? Don't ask me... But I couldn't shower, brush my teeth, use the toilets or cook... so I sat around the house drinking nasty soymilk and eating microwave food. NOT HAPPY....
