Patty and Tiff in London

I had some time off this month so I decided to take my sister to London. We're here visiting my cousin and seeing the sights :)

We flew over on the overnighter flight and luckily there was space up front so Tiff got to experience Executive First. When we got to London we had to take the tube over to Notting Hill Gate with all the tourists heading to Portobello Market @__@"

On Sunday we checked out some of the private gardens in Notting Hill that are usually open only to local residents - including the ones that were used for the "Notting Hill" movie.

On Monday Tiff and I went to Kensington Palace and after visiting the state rooms we had tea at the Orangery. On Tuesday we went to the British Museum and did some fabric shopping in Soho. We did some more wandering in Soho on Wednesday and in the evening went down to the Southbank Centre.

I had planned this trip around a concert that Andreas Scholl was presenting - and it was completely amazing. After listening to his CD's for so long and admiring his work, it was an absolute thrill to finally hear him live. He was doing a signing session after the concert so I brought his new release to have it signed. It was so lovely to meet him. He was very gracious and sweet.

On Thursday Tiff and I took a daytrip out to Windsor Castle, Salisbury and Stonehenge. On Friday we housesat at Michelle's new flat to wait for a delivery, and then popped down to the V&A Museum. We went to the Portobello Market on Saturday morning and were slightly overwhelmed by everything there... Tiff found a cosplay item she had been looking for though.

Yesterday Tiff and I rode around on the tube to visit a bunch of touristy spots. We went to the Tower, Parliament & Big Ben and then walked up towards Trafalgar Square. There was a huge police presence because George W. Bush was visiting Gordon Brown at Downing St. We popped by Leicester Square, and then up to King's Cross.

Today we went to the V&A again to see the exhibits that we missed last week, and then we went the Museum of Natural History. We have a bit more time here before we go home later this week.
